According to health&safety restrictions from the 4th November 2020, all cultural institutions, including ours, are closed to the public.

Because of this, we regret to inform you that this concert had to be canceled.

A nonet is almost a little orchestra. An ensemble of nine performers is regarded as the biggest line-up that can play chamber music freely, with the utmost understanding between the musicians and without the need for a conductor. Yet the proportions in this ensemble are of fundamental importance: not every work for nine instruments is a nonet. The standard was set by Louis Spohr in his Grand Nonetto in F major from 1831, scored for flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, horn, violin, viola, cello and double bass. Other nineteenth-century composers drew on Spohr’s model, including Onslow and Rheinberger, both popular in Germany. The time for experimentation would come only at the start of the next century.
