The evening’s program will be filled with musical pieces that have become Polish standards recognized worldwide. We will enjoy music composed by Wojciech Kilar, Henryk Mikołaj Górecki and Krzysztof Penderecki, as well as new interpretations of Fryderyk Chopin, Stanisław Moniuszko and Krzysztof Komeda. We will also celebrate 100th anniversary of Stanisław Lem’s birthday. Furthermore, compositions that include the poetry of Czesław Miłosz, Zbigniew Herbert – the greatest Polish poets – will be performed. The concert will also include the premiere of my compostion to Wisława Szymborska’s poetry.
How deep do Polish roots go and how universal is the language of music? These questions will be answered by outstanding soloists and musicians of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra based in Katowice, whom I will have the honor to conduct.
